All I have to say to this is: car companies don't care if people buy the gas powered car for 12k or the electric (mandated) car for 30k. quite the contrary. they're happy they get to sell cars that will have higher maintenance cost for twice the price. And the government won't care either because they're getting their lobbying (corrupt) money also.
because in the end, people who have to get by car are just gonna have to take a loan to afford the electric car. this means everyone (except the citizens) is happy. the bank gets to sell a loan. the car company gets to sell a shitty expensive car. and the government is happy because they're incubi and thrive off the suffering of their citizens
People who love cars don't buy electrics, and people willing to shift to electric would rather rely on public transport anyway. people who would use public transport already use it. the rest of the people who are forced to use a car because they live in the countryside, or simply don't wanna drive 2 hours to work instead of half an hour, will be FORCED to make the switch to electric, whether they can afford it or not. Can't really explain this point, but the government will force something whether people can afford it or not. Similar situation now is that they're banning oil heating (radiators and shit) and you have to get a renovation upwards of 50000 euros if you don't wanna freeze in the winter.

well my dream car was an r32. nowadays you won't get an r32 for less than 30k. with my current pay that's 37 months of straight saving (not buying food, clothes or anything) and then stuff that used to cost 10k 2 years ago now costs also like 30k. unaffordable. most of it you're not allowed to drive anyway because there's a cm2 of rust somewhere on the body
