First year of electrical engineering and havent made any friends yet. Is this even possible without being super autistic with numbers and having an IQ of 130+ ?

I cant really fucking make friends man, even if i act tactful irl or anything. It doesnt matter because nobody gives a shit about anybody

You will need to collaborate with your peers for labs and group projects. You will need to learn to network for jobs. Socializing is absolutely crucial for your success no matter how high IQ and gifted you are.

Yeah absolutely. But what i meant is a group of friend or a few "true" friends that would actually help you out rather than temporary group projects and labs ykwim.

Also i doubt that most of those dudes you network with would actually help you get a job, the best they could prob do is leak insider information (eg: how the interview goes) but those kinda information you could just ask people on facebook groups or forums. Im sorry if my opinion is wrong

I never made any friends in college so.

short story: we were tasked a project that was supposed to be performed in group. Everyone formed groups with their friends, and each and every student formed a group except me. Had to ask each student individually if I could join their group but every one of them gave excuses. It was truly extremely humiliating for me. Ended up doing the project alone.

pretty much this. Any job that you apply for in the future will ask you how well you work with others.

Brutal

This made me rethink that having to network and go out to develop your social skills is such a redpill cope to a point. Its all about luck

do they teach actual electrical stuff or is it more like programming and math and other non-real-world things?

Just do crypto

Its just a bunch of maths and shits like any college bro. Year 1 calculus and physics, year 2 circuit analysis, year 3 and 4 specialization

And you have to go out and obtain real world experiences for urself (which is end of year 3 mostly or year 2 if ur lucky and have extremely high gpa or u have acquaintainces that would let u work some bs)

I used to do engineering and it helped big time to get help from others

Now I just do CS and can do everything myself.

I mean its always infinitely better having someone to help you. Im just making dumb threads to cope with my subpar iq and social skills ngl

I haven’t made any friends either. I’m too ugly even for the LTNs

Yeah this is possible and this is how it has been done but still try to expand your network because you never know where the opportunities will come from. Jobs are hard to come by so you need to scour the network to get one.
