In my case my personality is pretty top tier. But I'm ugly as fuck so the most I can get from people is generally friendship. An ugly but fun to be around guy is perfect as a friend. There's no incentive to fuck someone like that. Just incentive to hang around him and chat/laugh/joke etc.

The only difference between a relationship and a close friendship is sex. If you like someone but don't find them attractive enough to fuck them, then that's the difference right there.

Also looks opens the door on opportunity and cold approach. A good looking guy gets opportunities to show off his personality (if he has one). While an ugly guy has no opportunities. People won't reply online. If you try cold approach, you won't get past the first 30 seconds.

So looks plays an enormously greater role. But personality is not meaningless. It's just far weaker.
