Ded srs it's a good anime but the praise and fanboyism for this show is just ridiculous. People calling it the best of all time and how it puts other anime to shame because it's "mature" and "deep".

Just remember how your early anime felt - even after building up a huge database in my mind the fresh ones always feel more vibrant and real.

I watched the first 6 episodes weekly when it came out. I thought the first episode was decent, but everything after that was terrible. There was no story in the episodes that followed. Extremely uninspired environments and towns that meant absolutely nothing. Nonsense magic too.

every episode had an endearing quality to me but some of the better combat happens later in the season
