Bethesda made TES, sure it became worse over the years but skyrim is still good (idk about the rest of the games), so despite how much greedy they're now and in general their bugginess and the funny exploits that you can in their games etc..., they at least had good games in the past

But what Valve did? Seriously what? Like they barely release any games anymore and profit off other people's games plus there's much shit on steam, gog has more games interested in in spite of me pirating everything

Basically why do valve fanboys exist when there are far better companies that you know, ACTUALLY FUCKING STILL RELEASE GAMES FFS?!

But don't get me wrong Half Life is preety good though and I like it but goddamn are half fanboys are obnoxious and I know cuz I have one friend like that obsesses over Valve, hates any other OS other than Windows ironically considering that Gabe is ex Microshit employees, refuses to anything other than steam even though gog and pirating is better, also refuses to use anything that requires more than just checking file integrity and task manager because he's somehow more technologically illiterate than I am (at least I coded and knew how to troubleshoot properly), also refuses to use emulators, hates on consoles despite knowing barely anything about software nor hardware nor compsci nor programming (yes, PCs are superior but not literally everyone can afford ones that will run in decent resolution and framerate, plus optimizing game for so many hardwares is way more difficult than for console which is like 1 hardware type only), hates on RPGs and fantasy for some reason, and also likes too much HOI4. And that's the average Valve fanboy for you and there's a lot like him. Thank God I pirate everything so I don't have to deal with those fuckers

And yes I was on long hiatus worked on jestermaxxing and failed miserably at that

Because Half-Life is giga

steam is good, they won't take away the game you paid for.
they will refund no questions asked, even non refundable dlcs. (i did refund tarkov because i stated the reason was that i didn't know how to play nor had the friends for it)
if a game will be unlisted from steam the game still exists and you can always download it.
gabe is based.
gabe is god.
Gabe mode

they are very reasonable people
all the employees love working for valve (actually)
i wish i worked for valve.

its not all about the valve is about the whole pro-consoomer stuff they do.
devs cannot just set slap an early access tag on and never deliver the finished game anymore.
Valve has a dynamic pricing system according to the local purchasing power of the user's region.

better than buying a digital product and more based than valve is gog but even that is not better than buying the CD like the old days.
nowadays like on ps5 you buy the discs and the fucking disc only carries the license in some cases you need to download the game from the cloud to the console.

you will own nothing and be happy!
eat the bugs goyim.
Ze bugs eat them v0 xy8xothoswrf1

steam is the only best gaming launcher on pc

Steam has too much slop
Like mining apps disguised as games who use your ram

Tbh, Valve, so far, has been very consumer friendly.

I know that I am buying licences and I know that they could be removed some day. It is what it is.

I have never been a Steamdeck or Steam machine fan, but the Steam Controller 2 looks very interesting.

I nowadays prefer gaming with a controller over mouse and keyboard for posture reasons, tbh.

Also, it is far more comfortable. The Steam Controller would bridge the gap between gamepad and mouse and keyboard and I am here for it.

I will be buying this thing this year for sure, despite it being Steam only, which means that you can't use it in games which you have launched separately. It can also not be used on consoles, but Idgaf. I know why Valve is doing it and I am ok with it.

because they are the only consumer friendly company out there

Because they are not like any other company in a good way. They are consumer friendly. Gaben is OG, and he is a based bloatlord. I couldn't hate them if I tried and wanted to be honest with myself. They literally are the only (major) game company that's not straight up evil. That will fade away, give it a few years.

Hello, Valve fanboy here. First of all valve are quite good at engineering. Both half lives have ridiculously low system requirements. Second screw your games. Games are bad business. Look at the revenue per employee:

tech-firms-are-earning-big-with-small-teams-heres-whos-leading.png

Do you see Bethesda there? Any other companies who "make games"? This shit is high risk. What if They will make Elder Scrolls VI and people will be like, meh, not buying this shit. All money is wasted.

Valve has steam. People who have steam buy games. Not necessary from Valve. Valve takes commission. Two-sided market at it's best.

Because people like to praise gabe newell

2k removed their launcher, preety sure that's a step into being consumer friendly

BUGthesda are incompetent more than they're against consumers, yeah IK they done the whole paid mods thing, the 2 abominations: starfield and Fallout 77 etc...
But at least even when they appealed to the lowest common denominator they made good stuff like skyrim even tho skyrim is an ARPG and Morrowind is a CRPG (I'm playing Morrowind with my dad as of recently we both enjoy it)

GOG provides you with DRM-free games, and unlike steam, it actually has quality control, aka no shovelware shoven down your throat, and has offline installers, plus you own the actual game rather than just a license to it that could expire any time

GOG doesnt has every game. Even ones without drm on steam dont get released on gog. What gog needs is better library and regional pricing.

Still, most old PC games that aren't on steam that are well known enough eventually get released on it

But there are some exceptions like NOLF series

Same, I didn't get banned but ig I'll also buy on gog from devs with mid budgets that make good games from genres I like

Nolf is nowhere to be found. I want to play it so bad.

if a game will be unlisted from steam the game still exists and you can always download it.
Then you're bound to that one account you bought it
And forget about recommending any game that got delisted

devs cannot just set slap an early access tag on and never deliver the finished game anymore.
They can
Its up to the developer to determine when they are ready to 'release'. Some developers have a concrete deadline in mind, while others will get a better sense as the development of the game progresses. You should be aware that some teams will be unable to 'finish' their game. So you should only buy an Early Access game if you are excited about playing it in its current state.

Because the competition sucks ass compared to valve

Also Valve is the only one with decent support for Linux. Everyone else sucks including GOG. They don't even have an official GOG launcher for Linux. Then there's cool shit like Steam Input which I use almost all the time which lets me use a Playstation controller on a game that only supports Xbox controllers.

Valve is the last major publisher of games with unfiltered unmoderated chats, that alone is enough to call them based

Not even gog?

Steam recognizes non xbox controllers without external program? I didn't know that ok maybe I'll switch to steam if I'll use steam controller

Gog doesn't develop games
But the company that owned it does, although I heard that CD red projekt sucks ass with the cybERfuck and witchER shit but idfk tbh

Those are primarily singleplayer RPGs. I am talking major competive multiplayer games like counter strike and doat

Oh ok. Ain't cs way too fucking easy? I tried it for a few hours and there was next to 0 challenge but struggled like fucking hell with the finals

Isn't there a game for like someone me that is neither noob nor pro? I hope to God there is, I'd rather single player but maybe I'll try multiplayer later on

Wtf are you talking about. If there is no challenge in it then join a pro tournament and make millions

Ok that explains it

Until I thought was good in a game I realize I don't 😕

Also I'm ESL af so I can totally forget about any sort of vc for multiplayer cuz I got such a heavy accent not just in English but any language I speak

Valve used to be nice to gamers. They basicaly built their entire company on hiring modders and making their creations profitable
