Ignoring the slower monsters and nerfed item management.

The maps are an improvement over world because they're more combat arenas than mazes. The issue is, the dog riding mechanic absolutely ruins the entire appeal of the maps in the first place. What's the point in having a better designed map when you're going to be speeding through it on your mount? You're discouraged from following the monster on foot because it'll flee quicker than you can run. The game flow is so bad. Rape monster. Chase it on mount. Rape monster again. Rense and repeat. The game would've been better if the mount weren't there at all.


I hate the fucking dog so much. If they were going to do a mount it should've been a horse. Not a dog. I hate dogs.

Ofc it's even worse in wilds because the entire thing is automated

They don't have to remove instant camp teleportation just keep random area start cause starting in random area makes getting to large monster faster and in rise it allows different spurt bird path

Don't you have to eat meals in Camp in rise? You can't eat before you go out as far as I'm aware. On a similar note having to find the birds for full health is obnoxious

Not true. The best Monster Hunter games were released on 3ds. Generations Ultimate was also good.

And in regards to scope, the switch is more powerful than a PS3 and Xbox 360. The game feels like it has less scope because Capcom chose to streamline transportation and exploration. It's not because the game wasn't technically capable of being larger. I'd argue Rise maps are already too large and bloated.

They feel less alive than World due to poor art direction. They look very video gamey and unfinished. Some of them actually look worse than games released on far weaker hardware. Compare flooded forest from MH3 to Rise. The random rain is missing which makes the level feel less alive.
The night sky is less beautiful because they chose to for muh realistic lightning over preset lightning which looked much better.

I feel as if Rise was rushed to capitalize on COVID lockdowns. It feels very unfinished and unpolished.

You can eat before you go to quest in rise and world I eat at camps if I forgot to eat food before the quest

Capcom should of went multiplatform with the 3ds monster hunter games I will love a monster hunter 4 ultimate PC or PS3 version that have more content since it will be on a more powerful hardware
