honestly starvemaxxing is much better and faster than dieting even a good caloric deficit diet won't be half as fast as starvemaxxing.
I'm probably not going to do full water fasting. I'll just do low calorie days where I just have a protein shake and a salad, maybe 1000 calories total. I could do that 5 days a week and that would put me at a 5000 calorie deficit each week, which in theory would yield 1-2lbs fat loss per week.

what I found is that caloric deficit wouldn't be as fast as fasting regardless of how low the caloric intake is for some reason. as per my first post on this thread I passed a couple of days in which I only consumed ~880 kcals as an experiment it was just as bad as starvemaxxing energy wise and the loss was not very big, diminishing returns.
I remember when I starvemaxxed 3 years ago I lost up to a week's worth of dieting per day and that was after losing water weight. it's just super fast tbh but super hard to do and almost impossible if you're hitting the gym.

That's so cool. Never seen it in the Balkans, but yeah possibly an Arab only thing. Everything smoked tastes better.

smoked yogurt is also more tart, tangier and unique tasting, so it's not just the smokeness it's just another level of yogurt :feelzez:

Yeah but a lot of it is just water weight and the sugars in your muscles, it's just temporary and you can't fast long term without losing muscle. I want to keep going to the gym and not lose muscle.
 
Instead of going so low with your calories, try to burn extra calories. So if your maintance is 2000, eat 2000 but burn 500 trough activity. This way you won't starv

Idk man anything below 1500 kcals isn't worth it to try over starvemaxxing tbh at this point you're losing muscle no matter what.
worths to mention that I compared starvemaxxing effectiveness after loss of water weight to huge caloric deficit diet.

As for worth it or not, Like how much protein you think you can get from a 1100 kcals? I've hit 1100 kcals now and I'm only at 105 grams of protein even with the help of an iso shake. I ate 5 boiled eggs and a dry ass tuna can with 150 grams beef to get to that level of protein intake. it's literally over.

that is exactly what I'm saying, there is no way a man my size, 176 cm tall and weighing 76 kg to have a bmr of anything below 2200-2000 kcals. it is simply not possible even with a super ldar-do-fuckall-rotting lifestyle, which I'm not doing.

There might be something to this starvemaxxing idea. I've had a bad sinus cold the past few days and haven't been eating much, and then today only had a protein shake and a salad as I was planning. I actually feel fantastic. I'm a bit hungry now but my blood pressure is WAY down. It's usually always elevated which is annoying, now it's actually almost bang on where it's supposed to be (120/80). It's like night and day difference. My arms can actually fall asleep if I lay on them the wrong way while I'm sleeping at night. If I get up too fast I can feel woozy. That stuff never ever happens to me due to chronic high blood pressure.

Even 1500kcal is still technically starving since you'd be way under your caloric needs for the day.

similar stats today, going low calories + decent protein for the rest day.
feeling disciplined but it's getting more tiresome everytime I see the scale not moving a pound from 77-76kgs :feelscomfy:

weight loss when?? Idk. I'm doing my best at the gym, I even began walking way more and doing crunches and high rep counts, nothing seems to work :feelscomfy:

newbie gains stopped pretty quick after just one month lol
I'm stuck at most weights, and such a huge deficit isn't helping either

april 2025 update: the upper kcal limit will be dropped to 1500 kcal, as I'm experimenting to adapt with 1200-1300kcal-ish for the past two days and it's quite maintainable and due to the fact that most days of march I was below 1500 kcals.
protein intake will be depreciated to 120-130 grams, as it is very difficult to reach an optimal intake of 152 grams (2 grams of protein per kg of bodyweight)


we'll see how it goes this month :feelscomfy:

I will also follow @SIR ETHNICCEL 's advice and add NEAT activity, not cardio but walking because it's the most tolerable non excersize body activity for me and aim to burn atleast 300 kcals of walking alone everyday, starting from tomorrow :feelscomfy:

those 2500 were mostly packed with protein and fat, I cheated and ate half a plate of rice, a wafer and a diet icecream cup, but that's really about it, the rest was just meat. not a big deal but breaking the ketosis was.


What I should do now: waterfast for the next 24-36 hours, make sure I get my electrolytes in check
