I find comfort in downloading a massive glut of games more than actually playing most of them.

As a retired NEET hermit, I like knowing that I could play new games 24/7 for the next 15 years until I'm dead. It's comforting knowing there's at least something there if I'm bored enough.

I have over 830 gb worth of games installed

My brain forces me to complete the game and do as many playthroughs of that game in a row as possible. Then only i can delete it and play another game. If the game is way too boring then i can drop it but most of the times i try to finish a game i start.

Are there not games that you always want to come back to?

This makes me want to cum but anyway I played Yakuza 0 and it’s kinda mid. The combat was repetitive and not fun. The lack of interaction (can’t hit them, talk to them, etc) with npcs, the tiny open world maps and the story being too goofy at points. Genuinely the only good/great thing about it is the side content & minigames.

It's a "reawaken your inner child" game so I heard. It made sense to me. Obviously not a tight resource planning and survival game like ninja gaiden

That might be the biggest 'selling' (pirating) point, when you first enter the karaoke room hits different. Then Friday Night.

The side content/minigames will give you a good 50 hours. But after that it just feels like an inferior Japanese pg rated gta. It also seems like your a platinumgames enjoyer? Or maybe just a coincidence.

You are right that's about it but the entire point is to give you those fond memories which will "reawaken your inner child" as it's marketed.

yes, of course, Hideki Kamiya in general, and he founded platinumgames, the only game of his I don't have (yet) is Viewtiful Joe.

I only have a PS4 at the moment. Should I get both Nier games? They look intersting but replicant is expensive for a remaster.

I never paid a single penny for a videogame except for online subscriptions
Automata has better combat, pacing
You can play Replicant after, if you liked Automata and want to know the full story

I play mostly singleplayer games. After i am done with a game i find it boring to play it again.

Try playing games with high skill ceiling and depth of mechanics so you can always improve or come up with something new (e.g. combinations, tricks) each time you return. Or just a really hard game, have you beat any mainline Touhou on lunatic?

Nah haven't played those but i am replaying sekiro rn. Learning everysingle move in the enemys moveset is a really fun activity for my autistic brain. It's the only fromsoftware game i have played. I have tried games with mechanical depth before such as dmc5, sifu. I really did wanted to master those games but low motivation made it feel like a chore so i dropped em. There wasn't a point in completing them if i wasn't gonna learn to play well. So now i stick to simple games with simple mechanics. Occasionally i play counter strike which is my favourite game of all time but i suck at it and doesn't really derive much satisfaction from it.

There kinda never is a point in completing them to begin with lol, so you're somewhat right. But playing 'well' is relatively subjective. You just have fun.

Yeah, most people do nowadays.

How? Especially if you suck at it...
I don't understand shooters at all. Never liked them. Only exception being Vanquish

Yeah but the skill ceiling is massive, so much so that even though i suck i am better than newbies with barely any hours and can feel better by owning them:feelsdevil:. But anyone with some hours put into the game can play as good as me if not better. You should try it. It's really fun improving oneself and destroying others solely based on your skill. The shooting feels so good in cs.

I do not like using the mouse either way, leaning over the desk straining my spine. I prefer to lie back and use controller. I guess you didn't quite grasp it I'm not a fan of shooters.

I have a habit of finishing games too. It drives me crazy knowing I got part way through a game and didn't finish it.
