Experiment Correlation between parents' and child's height

I'd like to know people's and their respective parents' height here. Is it genes or external factors that shows dominance over deciding one's height? I'm 5'6. Dad's 5'7, mom's 5'3. I think I should've replaced water with milk during my teen years

Lost the height lottery hard. My dads family is mostly tall and strong (he’s the smallest of his brothers and is still fairly tall/muscular) but I take after the moms so I’m shortish and chubby. Sometimes I try to stretch it and say I’m 5’ 8” but it’s more like I’m already forcing things by saying 5’ 7” especially with the extra weight
