Bach married a 19yo virgin when he was 40 and had 10 kids with her

Bach was a legit Lutheran hero, and is the greatest Lutheran not named Martin Luther. He taught catechism classes and a bunch of his works are in the LSB. His version of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" might be better than Luther's. not blasphemy I promise.

I wonder if this has anything to do with his ability to get a 19-y/o wife at 40. I know that was socially acceptable back then.

just be one of the greatest composers of all time bro

In all seriousness, this was more than 300 years ago, women are not like this any more. Legit women who are good like this are less than 0.5% of the American population. I actually got to meet one today and it was lifefuel.

yeah then feminists shat all over that like flies on shit. I had to redpill my roommate on this, he's about to be 42.

This was very common at the time. 20 year age discrepancies were common.

That's the dream homie...

I would do anything to marry a teen virgin.
That's possible in a radical muslim country with sharia law. If you are a wealthy men you can get four young virgin wives keep them in your home like your pet, beat them if they go out without your permission etc. Women seen as something to be controlled by men because they are lower in morals by their nature. Islam offers incel dream in real world. However you also need to be monogamous during whole life. You are not allowed to cheat which is forced by state law and you can be punished harshly if you do sex while being married a woman. Just Be Arab theory (JBA).

He was not famous by modern day, rock star standards, but he had a secure position and his family name had a good reputation. Families were like clans back then and marrying into one guaranteed all kind of advantages.

That said, the bitch is responsible for the disappearance of a big chunk of his works. When he died, his compositions were split among her and his children. Two of his children, Carl Philipp Emanuel and Johann Christian i believe took good care of this inheritance and that's why it has been preserved until today, where as her and another one of his children (probably Wilhelm Friedemann) sold his works for a quick cash crab, which resulted in a lot of them becoming dispersed and hard to track down, and many of them are probably lost for good now.

Of course, because we now live in the age of cucks, some idiot came out with the theory she was the actual author of Bach's greatest works and everybody believed it because of muh oppression of women, but the idea was so ludicrous even leftists had to denounce it:

I hate this culture so much.

On a side note, i just discovered this little program people are using to represent the music "visually", which can be helpful if you don't know how to listen to polyphony or harmony in general:

Even 40yo celebrities today can't get a 19yo virgin. Keep in mind that Bach was never famous during his lifetime. God, modern culture is so wicked. I would do anything to marry a teen virgin.

Bach lived in a much different time. Sure, people died of diseases at a more rapid rate and sure there was a lot more poverty in the Western world but it seems like that time was a more exciting time for culture, art and music. The state of art and music today is irritating and depressing. Bach was known in his lifetime as a virtuoso performer and his music was neglected because it wasn’t in fashion. But after his lifetime, his music took off in popularity thanks to other composers.

Feminism has attacked Christianity head on. In Bach’s time, the culture in practice was to be religious (Protestant). This was long before the feminist revolution and the progressive social movements. People have a tendency to think that past centuries were completely oppressive and primitive but I think they are wrong. These are the same people that really don’t know much about history. You’ll never find them reading articles on historical events and why they were significant. They just go off of what they learned in class in middle school. Bach lived in an exciting time for Music. Music in those days was an experimental art form. Nowadays it’s cheap blind capitalist entertainment.

Wow, did not know that a lot of Bach's works might have been lost.

I mean wtf, even back in the day why not pay someone to copy out the works and then sell the copies? You'd think that would make more economical sense as you'd have multiple copies to sell instead of just one.

Bach was famous as an organist, but not so much as a composer (except for a small number of devoted fans that kept his legacy alive after he died), but that's just how it was back then. Printing was expensive, and copying things by hand was laborious work. Something as simple as a fire would be sufficient to wipe out a musician's entire legacy.

Or something as bad as a bad son, like Wilhelm Friedemann. Guy was an alcoholic, couldn't hold a job for long, and was in constant need of cash. It's maddening to think the legacy of one of the greatest musicians in the entire history of humanity was marred because of this guy, but to be honest, i doubt even he would have been so vile as to cause the loss of his father's best works. We know a big chunk of his cantatas are missing, but those were very variable in quality, since Bach had to write a new one every week.

I've seen Wilhelm Friedemann described as Bach's most gifted son. What a dick though, that bitch too.

Bach was much better than the garbage singers today.

He was a good musician but nowhere near the level of his father:

All of his children were talented and well trained but none of them really reached the same level of genius as their father. Wilhelm Friedemann is possibly the most original but also the most erratic (half of his music just sounds improvised on the spot). Carl Philipp Emanuel inherited his father's stability and consistency but he was less brilliant than his brother. If you combined the two you could have probably gotten another Bach.

Both of them were among the greatest virtuosos of their day, which just shows how good of a teacher Bach was.

And then of course you also got Johann Christian Bach, who was among the most important forerunners to Mozart:

The guy had music written in his DNA. All of his kids turned out to be notable musicians.
