it just doesn't feel joyful like it was a few years ago, plus I rarely have much free time and I can't binge shows. Plus a lot of shit just feels so uninteresting.
ehh it's not so much that I can't find stuff to read/watch, but that I literally cannot bring myself to read/watch it. Now a de-stress would be good to have but I can't bring myself to do anything except studying and sleeping, not even video games are any fun.Enjoyment of hobbies goes in cycles. You will find anime and manga series you enjoy again soon enough. Sturgeon's law also applies here though, 90% of everything is bad.

same, it feels good to be yourself again. rediscovering your old hobbies is one of the best things you can doI stopped consuming media for 2 years and now I'm recovering.
The obvious ones are Monster, 86, Aldnoah Zero, Ghost in the ShellI like thrillers, action and dramas
recovering as in you're consuming again? why did you stop for 2 yrs?I stopped consuming media for 2 years and now I'm recovering.
nobody cares about history bruv, most mistreated thing ever T_T worse than philosophy.Yup. Reading and watching stuff was a cope. I loved reading about history, but then realized... "who the fuck cares..."
Then I started seeing all the fucking Chadcenteic, philofoid, anri-uglycel propaganda in all the shows abd films, and couldn't watch anymore.
Now I sit outside and look at trees
Yes, I finished Mr robot recently and now I'm starting the mentalist. Mostly studies.recovering as in you're consuming again? why did you stop for 2 yrs?
Yeah but for most part it feels like I'm just wasting time by doing something unproductive.same, it feels good to be yourself again. rediscovering your old hobbies is one of the best things you can do
Check out Dandelion, great little 7-episode long show I made a thread about earlier today:You got any recs I need some good slop to watch

That's not a bad list. Mostly series I have heard about but have not checked out myself. We probably have different tastes but I'll give you two 100% complete series that I would consider truly niche or overlooked, as well as really good:
1. Saraiya Goyou/House of Five Leaves. It is set in the Edo period and it is a perfect show for all walks of losers in life in my opinion. There is a lot of focus on talking though, which I know is not for everyone.
2. Human Bug Daigaku/The Human Crazy University. This is a truly obscure show. It is an adaptation of a YouTube series. That's right: not a manga, light novel, novel or videogame adaptation but a freaking YouTube adaptation. It has an extremely low budget and limited animation. But it is an interesting, unique and funny story about a man who ends up on death row.
I will give you a list of some finished quality shows, both old and new. They won't be obscure at all but they will be a little more niche in appeal perhaps. At least in comparison to what the average knuckle-dragging TikTok user likes. Not to say that everything they like is bad though. The list will not be in any particular order. Here we go:
1. Cowboy Bebop. Don't forget to watch the Cowboy Bebop movie as well.
2. Samurai Champloo.
3. Space Dandy.
4. Ergo Proxy.
5. Zankyou no Terror/Terror in Resonance.
6. Mononoke. If you decide to watch this show, don't forget that its first 3 episodes are contained in the series "Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror". There is also a new trilogy of Mononoke movies, but they are more of a reimagining of Mononoke rather than a continuation.
7. Ping Pong the Animation.
8. Monster.
9. Odd Taxi.
10. Dororo.
11. Pluto.
12. Gintama. Good for those who like Japanese culture and extremely low-brow humour.
Like I said, not the most obscure lol. I will give you one additional series which is technically not complete but is still a satisfying watch:
13. Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor and Kaiji: Against All Rules. Kaiji is a glorious story but the anime series is not a complete adaptation of the manga series, which is not finished either. The anime adaptation ends at a satisfying place though, it very much works as an ending.
But then again, probably not your taste. I generally don't watch shows where waifus have a large role.
the problem is that downtime is necessary for productivity unless you just implode but if you literally cannot bring yourself to go into downtime it's just a catch 22Yeah but for most part it feels like I'm just wasting time by doing something unproductive.
Thanks man i'll check them out you're the best broCheck out Dandelion, great little 7-episode long show I made a thread about earlier today:
If you enjoy Dandelion you will probably love Gintama as well, and then you will have hundreds of anime episodes to watch. Real lowbrow humour mostly though, so it's not for everyone. Since you like Persona 5 you might appreciate that some of the character designs in Gintama share a resemblance to Persona 5 characters. The protagonist's haircut is a bit reminiscent of Joker's haircut, and there is a character which looks a bit like Goro Akechi as well.![]()
Just finished watching the Dandelion anime adaptation (Gintamacels GTFIH)
Dandelion is Hideaki Sorachi's first one-shot manga, originally published in 2002 by Weekly Shonen Jump. It is the manga that gave Shonen Jump the confidence to greenlit a longer manga by Sorachi, namely Gintama, his most widely known (and excellent) work. I had not read the original one-shot...incels.is
But if Dandelion or Gintama is not your thing, here are some other recommendations I've written about before:
Thanks brocel. Heard of all of these, monster looks like my shit especially. The obvious ones are Monster, 86, Aldnoah Zero, Ghost in the Shell
I think you're gonna enjoy all of them, also homunculus and ashita no joe (manga), though there is very little action in the former, it's mostly a psychological thriller. Thanks brocel. Heard of all of these, monster looks like my shit especially.
Yeah I love a good psychological thriller. Forgot to mention but sci fi is also one of my favorites so ghost in the shell will be something i'll like especially.I think you're gonna enjoy all of them, also homunculus and ashita no joe (manga), though there is very little action in the former, it's mostly a psychological thriller.
Try out Genocyber, Terra E and A-Kite too then, good shit from back in the day. (A-Kite's production value is 2 peanuts and a hamburger but it's interesting). Kill la Kill, Gurrenn Lagann, Darling in the Franxx are good too, action packed and allat. Madlax too. Idk, Girls und Panzer, Kancolle whatever, you probably watched most of these.Yeah I love a good psychological thriller. Yeah i've seen kill la kill and gurren lagann they're goated. I don't care as much about production value as long as the story is good and the characters are interesting. Mr. Robot. Watched first season and was starting to get into; but all white men are bad, gay or violent; white women are evil; Jews, Muslims, blacks are awesome... STILL liked plotline, and then I turned on he 2nd season and protagonist was beinf a schizophrenic hermitcel and we get knew plots about struggling blacks living in ghetto.Yes, I finished Mr robot recently and now I'm starting the mentalist. Mostly studies.
