Your child has 50% of your genes. Your grandchild has 25% and then your great grandchild has 12.5% and so on. After enough generations this starts getting into the realm of 0.001% and any individual contribution you make to the gene pool is invisible. Collective genetics are what really matters. So your descendants won't resemble you in any way or have any identifiable biological relation to you and it will be as if you never had kids at all unless you reproduce with s who are genetically similar to you
