That's unironically how some cultures interpret this logic. Arabs are the most notable example, it's normal for them to marry their first cousins and it was even more common when Arab society was divided into tribes/clans before the establishment of the unified Muslim ummah

Continuing lineage and passing genes are different concepts. Lineage is about patrilineal lineage and family/tribe, a concept which came about in a world where knowledge on genetics was not available. Its a social construct based on sons carrying the name of their fathers. So having only daughters is more of a threat to your "lineage" than any gene dilution.

Further OP rationale would still apply if the mother is same ethnicity as the father.
