I've seen multiple users say it's "trooncoded" because there are gay characters in it or something. I've played the game a few times and they never shove it in your face, in fact I can only think of three instances where homosexuality is mentioned: that prostitute in Westside, Arcade Gannon, and some Legionnaires being fags (which is punishable by death). I got the impression that being gay is still taboo in that world.
Also people say the community is overrun by troons. There are probably more troons on average in that community than other games, sure, but isn't that just standard with older RPGs? Also the people in the videos I've seen talking about FNV or FNV meetups are predominately white guys. I think the perception of the fanbase is skewed because the community discussion mostly exists on Reddit and Discord and that's just self-explanatory why you would see more troons than expected.
I've noticed that people on this sub-forum play games and actively try to pick out anything that goes against their moral beliefs. Expecting every game to 100% adhere to your beliefs is a retarded way of looking at things.
