1: take my community college offer to become an aspiring tradesman

2: redo high school for 1 year so that i can try my luck to become an enginner/software dev

I never studied university-level shit, and chcose workplace level material.

Im 19 soon, my mom does t like me neeting at home. Shes willing to pay my crushing uni debt if i do it, but i dont wanna waste much time. Getting a lower salary means i might regret it. Ill leave it up to you guys

I should’ve done trades ngl

Im too retarded for uni

Wish I could go back to middle school and chose welding as my career path

Brutal ruined my life pill at 19

Your future is in my hands. What a responsibility! Let's think rationally. Let's weigh the pros and cons of each option. I don't know... I don't feel very well. I have palpitations. I think I'm having an anxiety attack...

trade if you’re comfortable with getting yelled at and disrespected. You will have to deal with a lot of bullshit before you learn it well. If you have the stomach for that, then do it. If you’re sensitive and don’t deal with confrontation well, then i would advice against it.

Someone mind explaining to a non burgercel what a trade job exactly is ?

Sub5ricemale is Australian, it's not just an American concept.
They are jobs that require more technical/practical skill and usually involve working practically as an apprentice rather than going to university and just studying material. They are things like plumbing, mechanical work, carpentry, etc.

So basically every job that requires an apprenticeship can be considered a trade job ?

Engineer costs like 200k to study for tho… and its harder to get into.

I could always try to flirt with my boss wife to annoy him

Uni if you're not retarded and can finish it and live in first world country. Don't listen to other retards, ESPECIALLY if your parents are paying.

Pretty sure that the majority of uni graduates have a hard time finding a job after finishing their degree

They do, but so does everyone.
And when you do get a job it's a wrap. You start getting experience and the rest is smooth sailing.
Also your entry salary is more than average trades salary and you don't have to be half disabled by 35.
First world countries need more engineers lawyers doctors etc. They don't usually run on manual labour, so it's not impossible to find a job, you'll just need half a year tops. Amd that's if you're an average student with no connections.

For years I read "trades" online and I thought that people were referring to some sort of piramid scheme where they earn money by trading goods. I'm fucking stupid.
Then yeah, that stuff is much better than university (except medicine, law and engineering, but you need money and high IQ to graduate), it pays well and anyone can learn, since you learn directly by practice rather than studying useless crap in the hopes that it'll land a job. Too bad that to get into them in my country you either need to have picked the right high school, or to have connections. But if I fail at what I'm trying to do currently, I'll also try to go that path by lowinhibmaxxing and calling up masons, plumbers and electricians (and they'll probably reject me too).

That's funny :feelshaha:

And that’s why a trade is better if you have the stomach for it, it’s much easier and cheap. The only downside is that your coworkers are a pain in your ass. Also the 70k per year for electricians isn’t really accurate, you could easily make 100k+ per year. Engineering will definitely pay more but it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the hussle.

update:
I'm getting my family members to vote on this.
If they say uni, then uni, if they say trades, trades it is.
