Discussion What should I do? Unpaid internship

Basically im at some carpentry shop where i basically just organize shit. It took me 10 seconds to realize that nobody even uses the work I do and Im not producing any value towards the company

Today, i basically confirmed i cant get a job from them, and there is practically no more incentive to work for them. Plus, the supervisor was shit talking me today about my quality of work and my learning. Again, he checked my work that nobody uses.

I technically am legally registered as a carpentry apprentice, so i need hours, but wont be able to get any more bc they wont hire me after the internship.

1: Should i just silently quit and do the bare minimum?

2: try to suck up to him and improooooove

What country are you in? In the UK to be registered as an apprentice means you have to be paid. If you are not being paid, that's an unpaid internship/work experience, right? And are they not teaching you carpentry? You are just doing busywork? So how are you a carpenter apprentice then? Once again, to be an apprentice in something means getting taught it and getting a qualification in it (at least that's how it works in the UK).

Leave nigga. What fucking benefit are you getting from being there? You aren't being paid and you aren't being taught anything and it sounds like they are treating you like shit. Even better, if you are in the UK and you really are on an apprenticeship, you should fuck them over, report them and see if you can sue them for not delivering on their part of it.

Ah makes sense, but yeah. Unless they are training you, leave. You aren't going to get your license if they don't even train you. Your choice though. I mean maybe there is some benefit if you have access to equipment and material so you can teach yourself, that's the only benefit that I could see to being there.
