Not really. Cancer was handpicked by Hades to kill Dohko while Aphrodite was sent to kill a Silver Saint on a similiar level to Orphée. They were both pretending to be weak at Shion's request to keep the facade of the Gold Saints being under Hades' control when in actuality they wanted to give Athena her Divine Cloth so that she could better engage the God of the Underworld in combat (keep in mind Hades is one of the big 3, Poseidon only appearing to be weak because he was both in a human body and awakened before he should have, weakening him further). The only 2 Gold Saints in the current timeline that are indeed above the curve are Shaka and Saga. The rest are more or less at the same level.
