been playing a bunch of old ps2 and early pc games lately and honestly it just hits different. everything now feels soulless. back then games had actual atmosphere, good music, no forced woke garbage, no microtransactions, just pure escapism.
now it’s just fucking zoomer pandering, bright colors, marvel humor and some diversity npc lecturing you mid-game. can’t even boot up a game without some foid character being shoved in your face for brownie points. and don't get me started on online games — 90% of them just chad larping
games r just another reminder you’re not part of this clown world. devs don’t care anymore, they just pump out trash for quick cash and reddit karma. how the fuck is even escapism dead now??

Playing Grid 2008 and it's 100x better game than anything we have released now. It's also looks more pleasant to the eye after you remove that ugly filter while with modern games you can't remove all dogshit effects and blurry TAA/DLSS/FSR.

I enjoy both but old games were games first and foremost which I still like about them. Platformers and beat em ups are still fun and challenging compared to interactive movies. I can enjoy a story if it's good sure but can't really call those games games can I.
