I'm late to the trend and the hype for this game has died out at least a couple of months ago, but since this is a topic of passion I gotta write my thoughts about it, which aren't much because this game has no content.

And what do I mean with no content? I mean that this is not a videogame, this is a glorified TV show and should not even be considered a Telltale style game, because in Telltale games the QTEs actually matter and you have to walk around and get things, actually interact with the game. In Dispatch the only gameplay you get is: Dispatching, mindblowing. You sit in a desk, send these shitty villains to save the day and before and after your shifts you get a ton of dialogue with the characters, which are not really interesting in my opinion. The best are the first ones you meet, you got Blonde Blazer, which honestly was a pretty nice character; she treats you well and is nice to talk to, then you have Royd and Chase, one of them being the mechanic that will fix your Mecha-Man suit and the other one being a former superhero that took care of you when you were a child, respectively.

Invisigal is cool but she's a bitch for almost the entire game. She was the one I chose to romance, she seemed more interesting than Blonde Blazer. And that's almost everything the game has to offer, I honestly think this "game" was just a big gooner bait and is praised for it even if people don't want to admit it, outside of the romance options and these couple interesting characters, you don't have anything. The gameplay is bland, the choices aren't actually that impactful and the QTEs are blatant lies, and once again. Just like in my Dead Island 2 rant, you are not the hero of the story. At least not in the way you should be, at the end of the game you get your Mecha-Man suit back and have to fight off the Red Ring, the main supervillain gang. And you don't do shit, every single time you get to fight somebody you either share the fight with someone else and let them beat your opponent for you, or you hit QTEs for at least twenty seconds to not land a single blow and get your shit rocked, while you watch the Z-Team (the heroes you are responsible for) beat everyone's asses while you are getting robbed of the action, the action of actually defeating someone I mean.

You can argue that Robert(The Player) was the hero for training the Z-Team and helping them become who they are now but I just don't like that. I'm playing a VIDEOGAME, I want to see my character in action, I want to kick ass, not watch others kick ass for me. And I got a counter argument for that cuz in the end of the day the actual MVP is Chase, the old guy, so the training didn't matter for shit.

SPOILER

Chase gets Blonde Blazer's necklace and gains her superpowers, matched with his superspeed he speedblitzes through the main villains robot and fucks up his ability to predict things and he ends up getting his ass beat by the Z-Team and you.

The writing is just so garbage here, it's the kind of reddit humor that thinks it's funny for making a shit ton of sex jokes and swearing all the time and it's insufferable, the worst offender here are the women of the game, by far the characters I hated the most was Sonar and Malevola, Sonar is voice acted by Cr1TiKaL and he's so ass, he couldn't express any kind of emotion even if his life was on the line, I dislike Malevola simply for having a shitty British/Aussie accent and sounding like she's got a dick stuck in her throat, her jokes don't help either.

I'd talk about the ending of the game but it's so trash I don't feel like mentioning it. Long story short, this game is bad. This is not a videogame and all the glaze comes from normies who love movie-game slop. It's fun sometimes and the dialogues feel natural enough, but all your joy is killed off the moment you get to the actual gameplay that adds nothing to experience, not only it adds nothing, it takes from it for how bad it is. Adding the fact that the game fumbles the bag in the climax and it has completely forgettable designs and story, ends up giving you a bittersweet, lackluster experience. Reddit needs to step out of the game industry immediately, I am tired.

Did you pirate it? I hope you didn't spend $30USD on this game.

yes I did, I had a a feeling I wouldn't like it
Good. I have only seen the clip of that Sonar character walking out of the office and thought it was an embarrassingly unfunny scene. I was surprised to learn the game is rated overwhelmingly positive on Steam with thousands of reviews.

its not even a game. Its garbage show written by millenial gay redditors

I fucking hate when people try compare it to the great telltale games it doesn't even compare to the great things telltale have made

I don’t understand how is such a garbage so highly rated

What site do you use?
I used gamdie , not all the files are monitored so some games might actually be a virus, but that happened to me just once and it was a very recent game so I wouldn't worry much.

Oh I know that site, I thought you used some site for all steam games or something

I actually really really enjoyed the hero management gameplay system but that might just be because I’m probably autistic and like management games. The reason I don’t like dispatch is because it’s Reddit-coded millennial slop. Plays in to all the new age feminist bullshit where the main guy has to be an emasculated pussy and the female characters have to be strong badass girl bosses. The “humor” and “comedy” is also fucking terrible and very Reddit as well. I wish they kept the gameplay and just replaced the entire fucking story with something else and maybe I would like it lol

If you paid for this trannyslop, you’re beyond retarded.

Movie games are an infection that really should stop. Judging by how people got upset about Dispatch being censored on the Switch version, it probably really is all about the goon slop.

Bit late for replying but i've also have some things to say about the game and your opinions on it.

First of all let me say that this game is overrated and glazed to no ends, it's incredible how it got so popular being truly a "mid" game, i'm sure popularity comes from the gorgeous animations, telltale developers and the VAs. It was a combination of things that made this particular game popular.

This game has some issues that a lot of telltale games have, the most important of all being that your choices don't truly matter in the grand scheme of things. The notorious "x character will remember that" often resulting in nothing. Another super big issue that made me not want to play the game more than once, is that this game does not have a flowchart. While being a visual novel basically, it's insane that i have to sit thru the game and animations agains and can't jump freely between sections.

Let's talk about the characters.... they were.... fine? i did not have a particular issue with them other than a lot of them not mattering much and not having that big of a personality, problem was a lot of them were not romanceable. I don't care for dudes as i'm not gay, but malevola or prism or even the other gal, why can't i romance them? Game seemed half baked, sure the animation was costly but what the hell....

Story super omega mid, the ending i got was mid as well. So while i enjoyed a run of it, i can confidently say that as a VN or close to it it's super mid.

Replying to your comment of being let down by not being able to kick ass, chase while the MVP he would not have let the Z team continue and this has been said from day 1. So in the end the success of the Z team is due to robert.

The game is popular, sure. But i prefer a thousand times the wolf among us.

I didn't contest the fact that the success was due to Robert, I just think it's pointless when in the end who gets to beat the main villain is Chase and not the team you trained, plus the fact that Robert doesn't do much in the final fight makes the ending even more unpleasant to watch.

It's about the path to each part. This is how telltale games have always been. Your choices obviously don't effect the main cannon

That's fair, still you should know that being the brains of the operation or the motivator in a team is no small thing either. But of course is more visually appealing seeing the protagonist kick ass, i can understand that. There's an ending that you did not get where what robert does is more substantial if i'm not remembering incorrectly

Yeah and that's what i dislike about them. Why bother making choices if they don't really matter? It's a half baked thing. It's not like choices present super interesting narratives either, so i feel like they are kinda useless and annoying. I'm doubly annoyed as i'm an avid vn reader and there choices usually do matter.

Its a gooner bait game for normfags and the moist fanbase

dispatch is a game for tards how do people find enjoyment in clicking a certain button it was so overrated

Watched E;R's video on that game and it barely qualifies as a game, bro did a great job dissecting why. This is coming from someone who used to love telltale games btw so there is no bias against the type of game it is.
