It's not, mate, and you're not helping anyone by saying that.
It literally is just about the calories
this is why I hate talking about this topic and why people are stupid about it. there's many variables at play and is up to you to figure out what works and what doesn't.

to me, I can only lose weight and stay motivated is through fasting, get naked on a scale and writing down everything I eat daily.
 
No, it's 2000 calories. If you wanna get lean cut that down by 500. Focus on high levels of protein over calories. That's why eggs and chicken are the perfect food to get lean on.
