At least 99% of all Mario & Sonic games I have ever played have been 8 bit.
I think they work better as 8bit games than 3D games.

2d mario was childhood. 3d mario was abomination I discovered when internet came about. Also I used to think that bowser is actually a dragon. Not a spikey turtle. Infact because of bowser our word for any "video game boss" was dragon. I did not start calling them boss untill much later.

Super Mario Bros (1985) & Sonic The Hedgehog & Sonic & Tails were the three I used to play in school during computer class after I was done with my work.

My first Mario game was Mario Sunshine so I can't relate. Mario can work great in both 3D and 2D.

I only liked Rayman 2 and 3 when it comes to 3d platformers i don't understand how people could enjoy them you will be missing jumps by a ton since camera is not as clear as with 2d plane if you could reach the landing spot or not.

2D platformers are less likely to have bullshit annoying jumps.

3D Mario is fine, Sonic doesn't work as well in 3D as he does in 2D though
