It's well rated but in my opinion it's just shit. It loses any coherent plot after the first 12-16 episodes any feels more like just a bunch of random things happening.

Since you mentioned starter anime, I'd strongly recommend Attack on Titan. It's peak anime.

I think it's up there with Monster/Naruto/Death Note/Cowboy Bebop/Berserk/SAC/Kaiji/Baki/Black Lagoon/whatever I missed.
