Is going into 3D animation pointless now that we have AI?

I was dabbling with blender and unreal engine but now that I think about it I feel like I'm wasting my time. By the time I get good in 5 years I feel like anyone will be able to do what I took so long to learn in a matter of minutes. Shit sucks.

There will probaby still be animators you'll just have to be really good, and you'll be partly utilising AI that replaced all the "kinda good" animators.

Talent will still exist, and AI will not takeover what humans can already produce especially considering AI shit is really easy to tell. However in terms of writing and other things people have been using AI where you don't need to generate images and you just write a narrative story.

Nah not at all. 3D modelling/animation still has the personable trademark to it imo

Really depends, there are people who animated for their whole lives such as the ones who worked at Pixar and other big Hollywood ones. Sadly, I don't have definitive answer for that question but if it's something you are truly passionate and willing to dedicate your time and effort into then go ahead.
