There were ALWAYS people like this. They were called sheep, then avg joe, then automatons, then robots, now they are called NPC's.
But i feel like this kind is a turbo automated, fully pre ordained, packaged and sold version that IS EVEN WORSE than previous ones.
Why? cause the other ones had some angle about them, some secret. Like a double life, a secret geeky interest of sorts, etc.
Just SOMETHING that showed to anyone (who bothered to check out) that they were actually... humans, you know? With their own shit going on someway somehow, at least...
Painfully average doesnt even begin to explain it. Its like that saying "the lights are on, but no one's inside?"
Are these people cut from the same cloth as us? Is there something that makes them like this? DNA? Life trajectory? Social pressure? Unbothering to learn or care about anything new? Going against the grain once in their lives would be that bad?
