Currently I am reading a book -
Anyways in this book he goes on about how even though the supernatural parts of Buddhism (karma, reincarnation, gods) might be a cope but the secular parts (meditation/mindfulness/Understanding that society is a "maya"(illusion)/abstaining from worldly desires) and how to go about it is actually pretty darn dope.
It goes about how even though all religions are untrue and a bunch of fairytale bullshit it is Buddhism which has nailed down the sickness of the modern man and has provided ways thousands of years ago on how to deal with it.
Book has cited sources/research/ancedotes etc.
What do u brocels think? Should I take it seriously and start taking this Buddhism stuff seriously by getting into Mindfulness n all??
Why Buddhism is True: The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment
Robert Wright
(btw u should check this guy's works out. He wrote the book- "The moral Animal" on how so much of what we do in modern society is motivated by natural selection and our desire to pass our genes and it is the most black pilling book in existence).Anyways in this book he goes on about how even though the supernatural parts of Buddhism (karma, reincarnation, gods) might be a cope but the secular parts (meditation/mindfulness/Understanding that society is a "maya"(illusion)/abstaining from worldly desires) and how to go about it is actually pretty darn dope.
