I have never found a person that reads to be noticeably more interesting than someone that doesn’t. So, why do normies(mostly females) say that reading makes people more interesting?

What is the information that is being learned from these books that make book readers more entertaining to talk to than a non book reader?

I looked it up and the most popular book category is romance. Are book readers talking about the plot of the latest romance novel? Is that what normies consider entertaining conversation? If so, how is that any more entertaining than talking about the latest tv series or any form of media for that matter? It’s

Reading books is the most performative Normie hobby

Only if you're reading hustling and motivational trash. Reading is good if you're reading about interesting topics like space, etc. I for one, love Carl Sagan's books.

Pseudo-intellectualism, and the pursuit of having the high ground on all things.

that’s perfect. can you answer my questions?

Yes, but unfortunately most normies don't read about interesting topic

Has reading made you a more interesting person to talk to? If so, in what way? What interesting things do you talk about? How do these interesting topics come up when you talk to normies? How does reading make you more interesting than other forms of media like documentaries, news articles, etc

Not sure if it's made me more interesting because I don't talk to anybody.

But I can say it has given me more knowledge and better perspectives that I lacked before reading.

Like what can you give an example?

I used to be a hateful guy and often thought about hurting people. I no longer harbor those feelings. Also used to lean right a few years ago, but now I lean left.

Just read books bro.

What’s 1 thing you learned that changed your perspective

I used to read books, and looking back it made me annoying.
maybe makes you interesting to other people because how can one live with oneself being so full with themselves.
When i did read books i was like stereotypical Reddit guy: "erm, actually..." always trying to prove i was smarter than X person. I still am guilty of that, but at least now i'm self aware, and try to tone it down.
Also i used to mention X was like X that i read and tried to bring insight to the conversation, i realized people don't want to be feel like they are less than you. pretending you're actually dumb is, actually, more interesting to them than you being well read. they want to teach you not be thought. And when you always know better makes you inferior they try to avoid and shrug you.

M.

Lmao it's a meme or something. Don't take it seriously.

A book goes into more detail than a 2 hour movie and it allows the reader to use their imagination to picture certain scenarios. I guess that people with a stronger imagination are more likely to read books so they might be more interesting to talk to for this reason.

Holy fuck, I already went over this. How does that translate to a more interesting conversation? If you read a romance novel how does that make you a more interesting person? Are normies talking about the plot of books to other normies in detail greater than what would be possible from other forms of media?

Well, yeah because books have deeper plots than some slop movie

I don’t believe that. I’ve never heard a normie discussing the contents of a book in casual conversation. The only place I imagine this would happen is a book club.

Imagine thinking a skill that you will never use is somewhat useful.

Reading and spweing random shit you read on the internet only makes you interesting if attractive and non-ND, if you anything other than that you will be meet with disdain and the dread side eye, just like a faggot saying he is an ex-faggot now or a 'Christian' woman who got railed so many times at HS but now she is born again and back to being a virgin.

Pseduo-intellectuals are braindead.

NOW, if you like reading for the sake of reading, then no judgement there, if you want to show off then I think a 12 gauge to your head (in GTA San Andreas) would be preferable.

Bro I could barely pick up a book, now I mostly just post it on an AI machine then read the summary

I read books related to my field of work.

How did reading carl sagan make you less of a hateful guy? I get that you like space but I don't see the correlation

Depends on the movie and it depends on the book, 90 percent of any form of media is trash. Making good art regardless of the form in which it's part of is generally hard.

honestly, there is no direct correlation but reading about the vastness of space and the bleakness definitely put things into perspective. I worked on a few other things too that helped me get a wider perspective.

Guess I can see the comfort in that. Happy to hear that you find something enjoyable in that perspective, I look up at space and just feel largely apathetic. It's not like i'd ever get the chance to explore the vastness of it, it can be nice to look at from time to time and realize how insignificant we all are.

I used to like reading. Now I can barely read. I'm too paralyzed to read. If my physical grasp is somewhat coordinated then my neurons aren't. These normies and their blatant marrow adventures I found are like a conspicuous mega dime on certain platforms. They treat their melancholic orientation as graced by bold divine infliction and pop off textual cross references as unsubdued reformed personal aesthetic, a major hill. It's ironically unattractive and corpulent because the rest is filtered out of their circus-championing the frequency to elect the alternative drives of rectum stoned vicarity rather than defeating itself on a hill.
