Sakurai is a hack. Smash Bros does not balance characters so that online is tolerable. Smash Bros Ultimate is absolutely insufferable due to DLC characters being over powered meaning it's basically pay to win.

Sakurai also introduced input delay in Smash Brawl to compensate for different online speeds. The input delay has become worse in each game and is now up to five frames.


Every time a new Smash is released you have to deal with insufferable retards spamming about it for months. "OMG WHICH CHARACTER WILL THEY ANNOUNCE!?" fuck smash bros and fuck Sakurai!

Nintendo could have had a good 3d fighting game like Soulcalibur, (which btw is the best fighting game featuring link) but they had to make this slop instead which braindead normies love

I noticed I only ever picked masculine characters to main.
Donkey kong when I first touched the game at summer camp.
Ssb4: Captain falcon. Little mac. Ganondorf. Tried greninja at first, but I didn’t like the moveset.
Ssbu: snake main. Tried incineroar first (just like ssb4 greninja)

A lot of nintendo’s greedy practices came after they started putting dlc for ssb4, and they realized the revenue it brought in. The doc was planned from the beginning btw. Sakurai said for ssbu the entire roster was determined at a certain date (way before the last character is revealed). Wouldn’t doubt the same happened for ssb4.

This has as much brainpower as taking Mario Kart, modding it to remove the items and make it competitive when Forza, NFS and Grand Tourismo exist

It was his fault tho, he made Melee , a very fast game with mechanics like L canceling that was appealing to competitive play. He gave that but then he made Brawl, a giant casual fest with extremely slow gameplay. Story mode was peak tho.

Are Ultimate DLC characters that broken? Last Smash game i played was Smash 4, and while Cloud was strong, base game characters could compete, but Bayonetta, was so broken that she could 0 to death ,out of nothing with 0 skill ,and with no way to escape the combo. Sakurai was present on a tournament where 2 Bayonettas were being booed

Items, stage hazards and final smashes just make it a party game with low importance of skill and more about running away from your opponent and spamming random items. Why limit the game to just that, when we can have the player to choose? ¿How does players enjoying the game other way you don't like, ruins your personal experience?

If you like that type of gameplay, just turn items on and enjoy, but i prefer them off most of the time.
