Just finished the bulk of the non-dlc stuff (~70 hours) convinced this is the greatest thing ever made + I particularly love how all the characters make manlet jokes about the Knight the whole game and they whoop their ass. Change my mind.
I've always been on the fence about playing it personally. Is it really that good? All I've gotten about it is hyperbole from youtube videos and never an opinion from another thinking human being lol.

It's amazing, you can gauge how good it is by people who have been coping and hoping for the sequel release for years. And even a sniff of an update makes them go mad.
The thing is the game is really pretty, has a nice story, is really smooth and also is really fun. Is also a soulslike. It ticks all of the boxes. It's also really cheap too.
personally ive kinda soured on soulslikes recently but stranger of paradise got me back into it. big into blasphemous personally so another 2d game might be just what i need. think imma look into hk cheers brocel

make sure you do the The Grimm Troupe DLC, it has easily the best boss fight in the game

I liked ENDER LILIES as it had cool variety of combat and also locations weren't as boring with a shitload of enemy variations to fight. Loli was just a bonus and ost was amazing.

No it's literally not, normies and trannies overhype it just because of the visuals look faggy af. The gameplay isn't even something stellar, there are decent and ok parts but I'm not a platformer fan. However the game solely focuses on bosses instead of platforming where it does way better. Some of the bosses have terrible and annoying designs that'll piss you off, some of them are boring af. The story, lore and world building all that 3 are nothing interesting albeit corny and tryhard af. (Also they copied Artorias from DS1). If you like cute looking bugs and a tranny you will love this piece of dogshit.

you'd have to play it yourself. every Metroidvania knockoff tends to have extremely basic level designs and bosses with very predictable and limited movesets.

Is there a demo? I've played a ton of metroidvanias and end up having a bland experience towards all of them. Tranny knight is the only one that annoyed me the most and the game isn't even hard. Order of Ecclesia has some absurd difficulty that Tranny Knight couldn't even compare.

I don't think so. although this game is objectively inferior to HK gameplaywise it's not uncommon for people to overlook many flaws if they like a certain setting or artstyle a lot. it's quite cheap when it goes on sale. this is the first boss.

Bit of a necropost but this thread was last up a month ago, but i beat HK the other day after taking my time and I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the overall feel of the game when i gto to grips with the movement system, and the combat was very simple but allowed for a variety of playstyles. Didn't beat white palace, trial of fools or godhome but i still thoroughly enjoyed my time with it and it reminded me of why i like video games.
nah, i have over 200 hours on Hollow Knight and its not THE greatest game ever, its good tho
