What level do I set safeties to? I know it definetly goes above the throat but what about the chest when you do the arch? If I put it at the level above the chest it kind of limits my range of motion, but when I put it at the same level I'm scared the bar might hit my chest. What do I do? I'm thinking that if it starts to fall I just post on my back fully but idk if thats risky or ok
 
bench press isn't optimal
 
just do it on the machine. those safety concerns will sabotage your last rep every time. if you're at home I'd either do partial reps or switch to dumb bells.
yes I had the barbell pin me once and I had to squawk for help. it's not worth the 5% better chest development.

The only thing I have at my home is a power rack.

however low you can get the safety pins.
to be honest I never worked out at home so I'm sure homegymcels have better tips
