Discussion Gymcels please help me regarding bench press

What level do I set safeties to? I know it definetly goes above the throat but what about the chest when you do the arch? If I put it at the level above the chest it kind of limits my range of motion, but when I put it at the same level I'm scared the bar might hit my chest. What do I do? I'm thinking that if it starts to fall I just post on my back fully but idk if thats risky or ok

just do it on the machine. those safety concerns will sabotage your last rep every time. if you're at home I'd either do partial reps or switch to dumb bells.
yes I had the barbell pin me once and I had to squawk for help. it's not worth the 5% better chest development.

The only thing I have at my home is a power rack.
So partial reps it is?

however low you can get the safety pins.
to be honest I never worked out at home so I'm sure homegymcels have better tips

but the weight of the bench press slightly lightens the weight of inceldom

What I do is put the safeties at a level so they won’t interfere with the press while arching, but if I fail a rep I can stop arching and the safeties will catch the bar.

True, just use the chest press machine

I just go like 1-2 reps in reserve
