When referencing some historical figure from the past who would clearly be an inkwell by today's standards, like Isaac Newton for example. They'll always use this euphemistic phrase to hand wave away some guy's complete and utter lifelong failure to get the opposite sex: "he just wasn't interested in women".
I always found this amusing for some reason.
