Title. Personally, games like Outlast, Resident Evil, Amnesia, etc. scare the hell out of me even though it’s obviously just a game behind a screen, not real life. I can’t play for more than 15 minutes before turning it off.

Resident Evil
I don't think resident evil games even have jumpscares
OP you should feel lucky because horror media doesn't work as intended on most people

I don't blame you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have yet to play a "horror" game that genuinely scares me.
Jumpscares don't count.

Jumpscare horror is like QTE shit.
Lazy game developers.

Reminds me of Resident Evil 4.

It's unpleasant to play due to the constant threat of jumpscares. The entire game is buit around avoiding them and the anticipation of something bad always feels 10x worse

You sound like a kid still. I was scared of that shit as a kid.

I played Resident Evil 3 at 13 years of age, for example.
And it was the uncut version.

But nothing really scared me anymore, after that.
One of my cousins recommended FEAR to me. Never played it though. Looked boring af.

Why would you care about what others think about you? Be comfortable with yourself.

People like FEAR for shooting more than horror. They say AI is good.

I stopped being scared of 1st Amnesia after some time because monsters' appearances are very predictable (every one of them is scripted) and everything is repetitive. Bunker would be more scary to me, I think. But yeah, that first game is good when you don't know its mechanics.

I played the original Outlast and speedran it at the age of 9
This game isn't scary at all. It's pretty short and all the encounters are scripted
You beat it once or twice and you will remember the entire map for the rest of your life

The same with first amnesia games.

Brutal. Once you understand how video games are designed and recognize that shit while playing, many games become way too easy and boring, tbh.

Horror games don't scare me either. FNAF only makes me "jump" because most of the games volume is at 20 decibels but the second you get jumpscared it's at 120 decibels.

I was always scared of games as a kid. The haunted house in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, Back in beyond, Shady Creeks, and The Panopticon in GTA SA, I got a game called Cold Fear which I played for 5 minutes and got too scared to play, even some racing games because I was scared of losing.

That's what sucks so much about growing up.

I know we have some "grow up / be an adult"'cels here but video games are one of my copes and I used to really like horror games, especially survival horror. i've played Evil Dead, Silent Hill and Dino Crisis. Tbh, Dino Crisis felt extremely easy at the time.
I remember how I've finished the second one without dying once.
It was so strange.

From my childhood, I'd say that Silent Hill was the scariest for me.
Back then I didn't understand at all what the game was about.
I just loved it because of how disturbing it was.

Afaik, the last "horror" game that I've touched was Cry of fear. Never finished it. I just got bored.

Nowadays I just enjoy building stuff, which is why I even go back yo games like Harvest Moon on the N64 / PS.

Never touched Terraria or Stardew Valley though. Stardew Valley is apparently pozzed.
Then there is obviousely Minecraft and some may have a literal Minecraft fatigue, but I enjoy it. Maybe it's because I have started playing it late last year. Never touched it before.

It's fun and relaxing. I like the many biomes. My favourite is the wintter tundra biome.

I just love snow. It is the only natural cope that I have. Sadly it has barely snowed the last couple of years, in Germany ... .

I should probably go on holiday somewhere in the snowy mountains.

In fact, I should moneymaxx and get me a nice house in a snowy area and ho on vacation there, every now and then.

For now my virtual house in the winter biome will do.

Yes. I hate playing games with snakes.

Yes, who tf gets scared at scary videogames unless their 5

Only scary one is outlast

Only game that made me shit even the kfc i ate in 2013 was half life 2 in the ravenholm part

The point of horror is to be scared. If you don't like being scared you won't like scary games. It's just taste dude

What's ironic is the things that used to scare you as a kid don't scare you anymore, but the things that didn't scare you as a kid now scare you more than anything.

The last time I got scared by a game was BO2 zombies

I used to play it on my ps3 very late at night
