If you just eat right and fast a lot, maybe do a couple minutes on the treadmill, a couple of push-ups and sit-ups a week, can you still maintain a lean body without even having to set foot inside a gym?

You need to build some muscle. But cardio is unnecessary for body shape. Just eating fewer calories than you burn.
