I almost never lift weights except when the exercise just cannot be done without them.
It’s better to do a lot of reps just using your own body.
The push-up is better than the bench press.
The pull-up is better than the machines.
The body weight squat is better than the weighted squat.
Etc.
The reason for this is that it is more important how well you move your own body, not how much weight you can lift.
If you think that you cannot get a good workout without weights……you are mistaken.
You just are not doing enough reps.
For example, with weights, you may do a total of 30 or 40 squats.
Try 300 squats without any weights.
