Because people change over time, I don't think that the argument that "since it happened once it will happen again" works. Altough even if incel, the experience of these people is completely different from ours, at least they got to know what it's like to be liked even if only in the past.

ah the friend zone pity hugs (typically in high school), where you think you're in a talking stage while she doesn't. (IMO, this is gray area and context is always needed)
