Outside of the obvious, what does "waiting for info" mean? I see a number of greys with that on their profile, many who signed up months/years ago.

It means they're under RFI. It's mentioned in a bunker thread. If the application isn't sufficient or whatnot, RFI effectively bans them. Some choose not to respond so they remain effectively banned.
