I am against banning shit in general. So my default position is generally opposition when somebody calls for X to be banned.
The threshold for "is this so bad that it needs to be banned?" should be high. Does this shit put the forum in danger of being shut down by the feds? Does it put me in danger of being arrested for simply existing on the same platform as your CP, bomb recipes, insurrection plans?
I don't see tranime avatars as being a significant threat to me, or the forum generally.
If tranimes, furries etc want to publicly identify themselves, that is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Why is it so important to put a drawing of a girl as your avi? The only time where it's appropriate is when it's in context, for example a picture of an anime girl being beaten or a picture of elliot rodger chilling with an anime waifu, in other words comedic purposes. Real-life female PFPS were banned after a vote basically under the reasoning of โno foid worship.โ The idea was that bringing female imagery into a male-only space changes behaviour and interaction. That logic makes sense. But what I observed shows that often, anime foid avatars often produce the same effect in practice. Again, nobody thinks it is an actual woman, but femininity is still being projected onto the user and the interaction changes because of it.
The usual response to incels who want 2d foid avatars to go is โlet the guys copeโ since it's just eye candy, but that does not change the phenomenon itself. If female imagery alters behaviour, then it does not suddenly stop doing so because it is animated. On principle, the rule should be consistent. Either both real and fictional foid avatars should be banned, or the distinction should be dropped entirely and any female avatar should be allowed.

There's no reason they should be allowed while other types of avatars are excluded other than maybe chad ones. Really makes no sense they're allowed and actual woman avatars are not.
