LDAR Why don't normies understand that confidence comes from outside and not within?

Among the most idiotic and repeated things I've heard from normies is "You have to loke yourself first" but to that I say, where does somebody get the positive affirmation to be confident? The same applies to being beautiful. Simply telling myself that I am good looking doesn't change anything as such a view is not shown back by the other people in the community.
