Its the sole reason Europeans were mislead to identify with a color instead (White), and everybody who is non-european, who would otherwise have nothing in common, is now in the same category as "people of color". I used to be obsessed with ancestry but then I realized it is because I am nothing IRL myself so I constantly thought of great ancestors all ancestors endured great struggle which is commendable but focusing on ancestry is usually a symptom of feeling inadequate so you want to boost your self esteem by claiming great heritage.

Eastern Europe did not experience direct Arab rule, unlike Sicily or Spain. But it was shaped by other influences (Byzantine Empire, Ottoman Empire, etc.). They're Whiter than Sicilians or Italians for the most part, but are still Turkish rapebabies.
