Which PS3 should I get?

I'm going to CeX today and I'm not sure which PS3 is the most reliable. The super slim is the most modern but was apparently made with shitty cheap parts.

I want to play PS2 games as well but apparently the backwards compatible PS3 is unreliable and can break easily. All consoles from this store come with a 5 year warranty.

Not all games are better on the emulator. God of War 3, Midnight Club LA, Uncharted, MGS4 run like total ass on rpcs3. And you can play pirated games on original ps3.

Really? I played all uncharted truiology on rpcs3 and didnt have much problems except for a few crashes.

id say emulating is still better since you can do it from your computer. Just thkining about going out of my way to buy a ps3 give me headaches. Anyways, to each their own.

What's your cpu i bet it's the newest and most expensive ryzen cpu. So no shit that you can run it but just that cpu + mobo costs 5x as much as a physical ps3. UC1-2 probably won't be problematic but UC3 has no fps cap and would drop like bitch on my cpu.

Unless we only talk about playing with 30fps like ps3 then fine it would be better on rpcs3 than on a real ps3 but if you want 60fps then it's ultra costly.

Getting an expensive pc it is worth it though. You can do everything on pc not just play ps3 games.

Then if you only want 30fps then it's fine you don't require expensive or newest cpu. I always wish to play at 60fps and that shit is ultra demanding.

For sure that's why i'm always on pc and not owned a console in a long ass time but like i said ps3 emulator is not ideal and even my i7 12700k can't run it well at 60fps

You can play most old games with Ps plus premium but maybe not the ones you want

And then some games if you fiddle around with settings at all changing clocks to get to 60 fps, you can mess everything up as they're finicky.

PS3 emulation is far from perfect, unfortunately.

The best ps3s were the slims that aren't the one with the physical disc tray you slide open. Heard they were shit and the last models they made. But they're your best bet for bulk storage without an external hard drive. Nice. I miss my ps3 tbh.

Funny thing is, All the PS3 consoles (versions) have different processors. I noticed this when i jumped from the "320GB PS3 Slim" to a "240GB PS3 Slim" it appears its not just the storage capacity that was changed. The "graphic color filter" some times even in performance differs. And no.. Its not me going schizo. It was noticeable, specially in games like GTAIV and Assassins Creed 2.

Mine is a former 240GB PS3 Slim, it has a 750GB HDD 7200RPM Western Digital Black Scorpion. A solid replacement.

Europe got the delay from 2006 to spring 2007 so that Europe could get 60 GB instead of 80 GB and only PS2 emulation, no hardware-based solution like in Japan and North America. All this at a higher price, of course. Of course we losers in Finland got even almost 100 euros Finland-extra in addition to the European price elsewhere in Europe. Likeways, Switch 2 costs 689 euros in Finland while it costs 449 euros in Spain and France was even 439 euros. The problem is that Sony and Nintendo do not distribute/be here themselves, they have Bergsala and Nordisk Film as unnecessary middle-men. And world's highest VAT rates so that we can siphon off our taxpayers' money to other countries at world-record levels. US was at 0.2 % of GNI before Trump stopped all development assistance or at least about 90 % of it while Norway, Sweden and Denmark have been at ONE PERCENT OF GNI OR MORE FOR DECADES, even above UN and OECD target of 0.7 % of GNI. Finland right behind them, also. Netherlands and Luxembourg high also. USA and Japan very low always. I tested Ratched and Clank 2 and GTA San Andreas from the beginning, not transferring my save-games. Both were totally broken and unplayable on European launch PS3 model with supposed PS2 support. When I biked, the camera got stuck in a wrong position and I couldn't see properly. Sony had a list of stars of the emulation support of each game. But the site was taken down soon after!!!!!!!!!!! If I remember correctly, those games had the maximum stars and still did not work properly!
