I never played WaW or Black ops but out of the rest I pick Cod4 easily. I hate how they turned campaigns after WaW into fucking extreme Michael bay action movie, it makes it just stupid. Cod 4 had action but it was WAY more grounded.

You're right, i've always disliked the excessively bombastic tone of the later games.
