Probably Pokémon Emerald. It's without a doubt the one I played the most.

Yeah, it would have. Paper Mario died right at Sticker Star. Color Splash is nothing like the others, no matter what people want to say that they went back to normal from since Sticker Star, and then Origami King they completely came out and said it's not meant to be like the other games.
Paper Mario is dead.
Fallout new Vegas easily and ace combat 4: shattered skies is a solid second.

That's a tough one but i have to say Heroes of might and magic II the succession wars. I kinda grew up playing it on my parents windows 95 and 98 machine. Back then during the late 90s, an old PC even had a distinctive smell to it.
I even have a windowsXP PC that i exclusively play HOMM2 on. You can't play HOMM2 on never machines because the CD opera music wont play, only the inferior MIDI music. So you'll have to get an old PC/operative system if you want to hear the opera, like in this sorceress theme, my favourite: (The opera singer was only like 15 years old when she sang this)

every dragon quest after is better, though. (only played up to 9, never got past the first part of vii because there was a puzzle and it was taking too long to get to the action, so maybe that one is worst)

Necromancer has the best lvl 4 units in the game. Vampires are OP as fuck. Despite being a great game, it's quite unbalanced.
Weird because I always felt the other "clans" were more overpowered.
Necromancer units were designed to be weak because they drained life and regenerated and shit and I was terrible at the game.
I like 2, 3 had depressing graphics, 4 was crap, and V was really good.
I think V is my favorite, tbh.
e: I see now you're saying only the lv 4 units were good, nvm.
so necromancer sucked, right? that was my impression.
also, you couldn't mix and match troops or you lose morale because living creatures hated working with undead, so that was another drawback.

Well necromancers units are weak but Vampire lords and bone dragons are quite strong. Skeletons are also the best lvl 1 unit in the game and with necromancy secondary skill you can create hordes with them, especially if you find peasants to kill lol. I agree that homm3 has very gray and depressing graphics but overall the games alright and more balanced. I've played 4 and i kinda like it but it feels a little more difficult compared to 2 and 3. I've never played 5 it seems too modern to me, but i might try it.
yeah, i loved increasing my skeleton numbers with killing peasants.
honestly, i just like building structures and increasing numbers of units
i played a lot of hot seat with my friends and it always pissed me off when i encountered one of them and my shit got bodied.
it felt like my sandcastle got kicked over.
i guess i don't really like conflict too much.
4 was way too different from the others with heroes fighting and leprechauns and shit.
it also looked really lame and crappy and i was happy that v returned to the old style.

Hot seat was the best. I used to play it with my brother and friends. We always looked away when it was the other players turn so we couldn't see where the other person was on the map. When i was a kid and sucked at the game i always typed in 32167 which gave me 5 black dragons. It made the game so easy it got boring very quick. I will never forget that cheat code it's ingrained in my brain.
Yea 4 is different, it has a more rpg aspect to it with all the skill combinations and class changes which made it unique in a way.
I hated other players killing my troops and taking my castles and towns so much that in the end I just made my own maps for me and my friends to co-op against the CPU. I don't think we did much of that. Didn't even know about the black dragon code.
IV was made by a different company anyway. I don't consider it part of the series, more like a joke game. But I didn't play it much so maybe it was good.
I wonder how 6 is. By the time it came out I wasn't playing computer games anymore.

Yeah this is why I stopped playing too. Just get mogged by groups of guys when I’m alone.
People stealing mines and resources were more frustrating IMO. I used to do the same with friends too, just fight the CPU. Making own maps is fun as well but it takes forever if it's a big map and you have to have alot of patience and creativity. There is also a cheat code which makes the whole map visible, kinda sucks because you have to wait longer and watch CPU turns if you activate it early in the game.
Well IV was still made by NWC and 3DO but it had one more developer called Contraband entertainment. What i didn't like about IV was that you could walk with units and get attacked automatically when you were too near an enemy unit.
your avi is a hero from that game, right?

Yes a Warlock hero called Vesper. It feels very weird to play the game now and randomly get that hero since i have him as avi on this site. Almost depressing in a way. Some of the heroes portaits in the 1st game is the same as the 2nd.
You do know that the HOMM games are actually a spin of of the Might and magic games. It's the same type of world, Enroth and Erathia etc and some HOMM heroes reoccur in the might and magic games. There is like over 10 might and magic games. Some kids even got the wrong games for christmas/birthdays because the parents bought some Might and magic game instead of Heroes of might and magic.

I never tried playing Might & Magic.
If I remember right, the first were more sci-fi/fantasy than fantasy and had robots and things in it.
Yea i've only seen gameplay footage of some. There's even some of the creatures from HOMM in might and magic. I think you're in space in one of the games.
