I never tried playing Might & Magic.
If I remember right, the first were more sci-fi/fantasy than fantasy and had robots and things in it.

Yea i've only seen gameplay footage of some. There's even some of the creatures from HOMM in might and magic. I think you're in space in one of the games.

People stealing mines and resources were more frustrating IMO. I used to do the same with friends too, just fight the CPU. Making own maps is fun as well but it takes forever if it's a big map and you have to have alot of patience and creativity. There is also a cheat code which makes the whole map visible, kinda sucks because you have to wait longer and watch CPU turns if you activate it early in the game.

Well IV was still made by NWC and 3DO but it had one more developer called Contraband entertainment. What i didn't like about IV was that you could walk with units and get attacked automatically when you were too near an enemy unit.

If you guys like turn and based games i'd recommend Disciples 3.

dragon quest iii?
every dragon quest after is better, though. (only played up to 9, never got past the first part of vii because there was a puzzle and it was taking too long to get to the action, so maybe that one is worst)
or are you talking about a different game?

i have a lot of good memories of this game. i picked necromancer.

I chose Dragon Quest III out of nostalgia

I played that one on Game Boy.
The first two I played on NES, and the rest DS and VIII on PS2.
DQIII is important because it was the first real Dragon Quest; the first two are more like prototypes for the eventual formula.
