What is it with web novels? Why do I find them so entertaining?

Of all the books I could possibly read, I read this garbage. How many tens of thousands of chapters I've read?

This is literally the equivalent of fast food of literature.

And yet I find it so enjoyable. Chinese/Korean/Japanese webnovels are literally my favorite thing to read. I read so much of them in the past that I had to take a break for a few months (or was it even a year?) and now my passion for them has returned.

I guess these authors have found the formula of keeping a person interested.

The one I'm currently reading is pretty entertaining, I read it almost all day today. It's called "The book eating magician". I've found that with fanfiction, even the top rated stories, they start off really interesting, and then after a while they become stale.
