  1. (Internet slang, derogatory) A person who is obsessed with or romanticises the Wehrmacht
I was one of those who believed that objectively speaking they were the best army of the Second World War. After actually studying WW2, I realized that the Wehrmacht was in fact very flawed and did not have the best equipment or leadership throughout the war. Nevertheless, I still hold them in high regard even though I no longer have the same idealized and childish view of them as I did before.

I am impressed by their tactical innovations and professionalism

The main flaw was lackluster economic mobilization, which wasn't the Wehrmacht's fault

back when i was 14 that shit went hard

Was both a wehraboo and tankie

IMO they did have the best equipment and (tactical) leadership of the war, but the severely low quantity of equipment and particularly OIL compared to their opponents completely doomed them. There was no way to win against the massive number of opponents they had, no matter what they did

I'm sure you remember that one edit from quarantine era with flashing images and battles

superior tanks and planes
The Germans were great innovators and had great designs early into the war, but were outclassed towards in the end. Their late war tanks and planes were on paper the best or at least highly advanced, but they had terrible reliability and/or were introduced too late into the war to make a difference.

So basically throughout the war, they mainly relied on equipped that was mediocre or even subpar by international standards.

Hitler and the NSDAP did the best they could considering the circumstances imo. Especially when you consider that some such as Schacht within Hitler's early regime were against a military first policy and wanted to focus on the civilian economy.

I'm admittedly not well read on the historian's debate about the causes of economic under mobilization, whether it was solely caused by organizational chaos, blitzkrieg strategy, or a premature clash with the allies before the completion of economic rationalization to suit the needs of a protracted war

But this was a fascinating article

I'll make sure to read the article.

I know that Hitler actually planned to start World War II in the mid 1940s and wanted to focus mainly on economic growth and regional expansion in the 1930s and early 40s. But by 1939, he realized that the German economy, with its over dependence on MEFO bills, would not last much longer and needed a war to survive. Therefore, he was forced to invade Poland earlier than planned and provoke a war with the major powers.

Thank you brocel :feelsYall:

How did you guys possibly think the germans were superior if they lost?

The axis was actually a minority of casualties in WW2 and when it comes to soviets vs Germans specifically, German military casualties were much lower. The soviets simply outnumbered them. In equal numbers they would've wiped the floor. It's like one boxer vs five guys

They essentially fought against the entire industrialized world.

I wonder how many Tojoboos there are, but knowing Japan's size compared to the US there was no chance for them even if they had won key battles like Midway or sank the carriers at Pearl.

Pure and simple attrition would eventually just wear them out.

The Germans fell the same way Napoleon had did, because WINTER existed and then their advances stalled.

Nah they just had the wrong division templates and needed to do their military focuses sooner :feelsLSD:

I was early on the wehraboo trend.
