Good read right here:

John

Chapter 3

2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

.......
22After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
.......
34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

So the main point here is that when denominations say you must only believe in God to go to heaven, that is not true. As mentioned above, receiving the Holy Spirit (with evidence of speaking in tongues) is what allows you to heaven, and everything after that is a bonus through having a personal relationship with him - such as "believing in him".

Denominations will cherry pick the verse John 3:15-16:
15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Yet they will not mention that verses leading up to this:
3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8.....so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

And finally my favourite verse:
12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
So if you do not believe in heavenly things like Speaking in Tongues, then how can you believe in Earthly things?

Extras:
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

.......
22After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
.......
34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
This is highlighting that to be saved from this world, we must also be baptised AND have received his Spirit (speaking in tongues).

Yes belief in God does not matter the demons believe in God and shutter at the thought.

You must know that you are a sinner against God.

You must you understand and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and the only hope of salvation.

Gifts ended (1 Corinthians 13:8-10). Speaking in tongues in Acts 2 meant speaking in different languages. In fact, "tongues" in the Bible always refers to languages. "The perfect" refers to the closing of the canon. Baptism and belief gives you the holy spirit. This thread is charismatic garbage.

Man I love this image, saved it. I might edit a few changes then make it the pfp
Awesome bro, glad you liked it! Let me know when the edit is ready :feelsYall:

I don't believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation. The Book of Romans is pretty clear that Abraham was justified before being circumcised, and that circumcision was only a sign of his faith. King David spoke about "the blessedness of the man unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works". Water baptism is clearly a work of obedience. The Bible says: "And if it's by grace, it's no more of works". In Acts 2:38, the word "for" (Eis) was translated by multiple scholars as "because of". People are baptized because they're already forgiven. As for the speaking in tongues, we don't see the Ethiopian eunuch speaking in tongues in Acts 8, or the Philippian jailer in Acts 16. Most Charismatic and Pentecostal churches won't say that it's necessary to speak in tongues to be saved. Are you a Oneness Pentecostal/Apostolic ?

What do you think of this verse then:
John 3:5-Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

It isn't just in Acts that mentions about water baptism, but heaps of times in the bible. But interesting point though about the translation being "Eis" meaning "because of", i've never heard that before.

And most pentecostal churches do say it's necessary to speak in tongues don't they? I thought most do... as it's the doctrine.

What denomination are you
