Not even Western RPGs. Japanese RPGs and other games in that vein. You love being immersed in a fantasy world where you get to be Chad and fuck the Stacy you worked so hard to please throughout the plot. That's why you're playing the ORIGINAL Final Fantasy VII and cooming to Tifa's big booba after getting your ass drilled by the early Dragon Quest and Breath of Fire games. You've finally unlocked ALL 108 characters in Suikoden, but your save file is corrupted and you can't reuse them in the second one. Brutally over.
You autistically beat every version of Final Fantasy II (the original one; normies think it's the one with Cecil) because you can't get over how fucking whack the stat-boosting system is, and then you go and play the Romancing SaGa trilogy because you can't get over how much you hate the normified EXP-to-level approach most other JRPGs implement. You'd rather get off on beating the shit out of your characters to maximize their HPs.
If you are older than a zoomer, this one will hit you hard in the feels:
You used to make shitty Final Fantasy fangames in RPG Maker 95/2000/2003 because you were so bluepilled at the time and thought you could make a "worthy successor" to the franchise. Turns out all you did was rip off tiles and sprites straight from other games, with a plot as unoriginal as it gets.
