So for those who didn't know, previously Tinder would have a (constantly adjusting) ELO score for it's users and attempt to only show users people who were the same level of ELO score as them. I'm not sure exactly how they went about this, but I think the way it works is that men are ranked with ELO scores, women are ranked with ELO scores and matched with comparable scores (80/20 profile sharing essentially, since women will obviously have higher raw ELO scores than men)
They have now ditched this ELO system completely: https://www.engadget.com/2019/03/18/tinder-dumps-desirability-scores/
Why do you guys think they did this and what are the repercussions?
My opinion is that women will now have to sift through many more undesirable men. Why would Tinder do this? I speculate that the ELO scores were turning away premium-account-paying normie men.
