Discussion Thoughts on romance?

I really like romance, whether it's in songs, poetry, books, movies (least liked). Would unironically write poetry about my wife if I had a wife I liked.
Even when reading the Harry Potter books or the Percy Jackson books the romance sections were my favourite part.

well sometimes it's the other way around but i get what u mean. The type of romance I prefer is more 'traditional' if that makes sense. It could be simple stuff like a wife cooking for her husband, or supporting him in other ways. And the reciprocation would be the husband protecting the wife etc. I guess it sounds kinda cringey but that's what I prefer.
Though its much less mainstream in modern writing for it to be like that, because they are too scared of feminists and public backlash.

I think its cute in kid books like The Golden Compass when that one boy kisses Lyra (in the book, I don't watch the show). Harry Potter and YA stuff gets a pass for me because I wish I had taken the teenpill as a lad. Adult romance does nothing for me though.

I like romantic music. Sometimes in bed i listen to it and pretend its me the person is singing about
but in movies or games or hatnot i despise it cuz it disgusts me by makin me feel bad
