I haven't played any of the MGS games. I used to think it was kind of like Splinter Cell, but it turned out to have some fantastic elements, like characters with super powers and stuff like that. I'm not against it, but given that it's Kojima, I suspect there will be a lot of cringe. Should I try to play newer games like Ground Zeroes or The Phantom Pain if I don't know anything about the lore of this series?
